ExpiredThe SHBBHS has decided to award the Roberta-Angell 2016 Prize of $500 to Alexandre Petitpas, student of DESS (Graduate Diploma) in Modern Architecture and Heritage at UQÀM. This Prize is being awarded for his role as curator of the May 2016 Exhibition, Tendances 1954-2011, following his research on this subject and his excellent work of design for the banners and the display cases.
Award ceremony: Thursday, May 5th, 2016 at 19:00, in the Discovery Room of the Beaconsfield Library , during the Vernissage of the exhibition. Alexandre Petitpas with Michael Goodfellow, son of the architect of the Beaconsfield Trend House, Philip P. Goodfellow.
For the 2015 Roberta-Angell winners, the SHBBHS decided to award prizes to distinguished contributors to the history of the City of
Award Ceremony: Thursday, March 19, 2015, at Centennial Hall, at 19:30.
Before the awarding of the prizes, a 7 minute video made of these two students’ speeches at the first press and inauguration ceremonies was presented.

Three individual prizes: 1st: $150, 2nd: $125, 3rd: $100 for the 3 best presentations within all the entries from eligible high school students.
Elementary students:
Three individual prizes per Beaconsfield school: 1st: $150, 2nd: $125, 3rd: $100 for the 3 best presentations from eligible elementary school students.
Three individual prizes: 1st: $150, 2nd: $125, 3rd: $100 for the 3 best presentations within all the entries from students residing in Beaconsfield but attending school outside of Beaconsfield.
Schools:
A prize of $300 for each eligible school that submits a minimum of 5 entries from its students.
ELIGIBILITY:
Adults:
All adults residing in Beaconsfield or former Beaconsfielders, including university students.
CEGEP students:
All students residing in Beaconsfield.
High school students:
All students residing in Beaconsfield
And all students attending one of the following schools: Beaconsfield High School or Place Cartier Center.
Elementary students:
All students of grades 5 and 6 attending one of the following elementary schools in Beaconsfield:
École primaire Beaconsfield, École St-Rémi, Beacon Hill Elementary School, Christmas Park Elementary School, Sherwood Forest Elementary School, St. Edmond Elementary School and St. Paul Elementary School
And all students of grades 5 and 6 residing in Beaconsfield but attending school outside of Beaconsfield.

This year for the first time, drawings and paintings were submitted along with text entries.
Our elementary winner for first place, Isabelle Ouimet, stood out with an exceptional text accompanied by a very well done drawing.
Because of equal evaluation results between 3 contestants, we decided to give 3 second place prizes at the elementary level.

WHO WAS ELIGIBLE?
This contest was open to all students of grades 5 and 6 at the elementary level and all students at the high school level, who resided in Beaconsfield or who attended a school in Beaconsfield.
The adult section was for residents of Beaconsfield, 18 years or older.
PRIZES:
A. One prize of $300 for each participating school, to be used for its extra curricular activities. To obtain the prize a school must submit a minimum of 5 entries from its students.
B. Three individual prizes per school: 1st: $150, 2nd: $100, 3rd: $50 for the 3 best presentations.
C. Three individual prizes for students residing in Beaconsfield but attending school outside of Beaconsfield: 1st: $150, 2nd: $100, 3rd: $50 for the 3 best presentations.
D. A prize of $250 for each level (elementary and high school) for the best of the best chosen from all entries. This is in addition to the prizes in A, B and C above.
E. Adult Beaconsfielders (18+): Three prizes will be awarded in the adult section: 1st: $250, 2nd: $200, 3rd: $150 for the 3 best presentations.
